This whole book was funny. Though parts of it were strange and morbid, a lot of it was moderately confusing in an understandable way … I laughed almost the whole way through. It’s light and heavy, witty and serious, all mixed with the color purple.

Bleeding Violet has a good mix of reality and paranormal. It’s mixed well enough that you can relate to it and it feels like our present day, age, and atmosphere, but the paranormal aspects are still strong and don’t feel out of place.

AshBooks Review for Sense And Sensibility And Sea Monsters:

Another awesome Jane Austen classic novel mashup by Ben Winters. To be absolutely hoenst, we loved Pride and Prejudice and Zombies better than this one. Sea monsters seemed a bit too much to our liking and when coupled with Jane’s serious social commentary, does seem abit hard to tie it in together, what with all the stray tentacles trying to get your attention. Still funny though.

Review:

What a hot story! There was no lack of romance in this book. It was so hot, I felt my own temperature rising. The characters were fun, and I enjoyed the bringing together of two cultures. There were so many good points to this book, and am happy that I am continuing with the next in the series, Seduced by a Stranger.

A very entertaining read, for any romance lover out there!! Definitely on my recommendation list!

AshBooks Review for The Better Part of Darkness by Kelly Gay:

Set in the not so distant future, where aliens live together with people who sometimes have supernatural power has been discovered that a drug that has been leaving everyone in comas and it is now up to two cops, Charlie and her partner, to get on the case. A sci-fi storyline meets detective thriller. Lots of sexual tension.

Charlie was my kind of girl—totally kick-butt in every way, shape, and form. She was tough as nails, rock-hard, dedicated to her job, but she had her soft spots for those that she held closest to her.
