Jack The Ripper

jack the ripper

Jack The Ripper: Possibly the longest standing unsolved mysteries of all time. Nobody knew who he was or how he looked like. Several reports hinted this infamous serial killer to be of respectable stature with a homicidal desire to kill and mutilate. His victims either knew him well or trusted him as they were no signs of struggle or defensive wounds.

It is also said that he probably charmed his victims to convince them to follow him into dark passage or alleyways where he attacked them. The manner in which the attacks were done were brutal and horrific: Mary Ann Nichols had incisions in her abdomen,  Annie Chapman had her throat slit and her abdomen ravaged (when she was found, her intestines placed on her shoulder and her female organs removed and missing), Elisabeth had just her throat cut ; Catherine had her entrails thrown out, her neck and throat sliced, her intestines under her body and her face completely mutilated, and Mary Jane Kelly had her throat cut, her abdomen sliced, her face mutilated and her internal organs had been removed.
The victims were not sexually abused in any way – just mutilated.

This suggests that the Jack The Ripper killed to fuel his need for blood and showed himself to posses some surgical skill and knowledge. But how could he have escaped detection when there were hundreds of policemen (both in uniform and in undercover) roaming the streets and patrolling bars and pubs? Does this mean that Jack The Ripper was probably a policeman himself?
